do you hire subcontractors?

At BDE you can rest assured your electrical project is being completed by trusted members of our local team. We only hire sub-contractors for services beyond the scope of electrical. I.e. drywall, siding, roofing etc.

who is responsible for obtaining permits?

We are! Black Diamond will obtain all required permitting and approvals. We have positive, established relationships with local, county and state governing bodies and inspection teams and will handle everything on that side of your project!

what type of training and/or certificates do your employees have?

All Black Diamond Electric employees are properly licensed State of Idaho apprentice and journeyman electricians. Preston Seay, owner, is a licensed master electrician. BDE employees are also provided safety trainings and are OSHA certified. In addition, BDE team members have training and certifications in multiple solar products including inverters and racking systems, as well as back-up battery systems and generators.

How do you bill? by the hour?

Due to the wide variety of services we offer here at BDE, our billing is unique to each project. This allows us to provide an individualized quote, tailored specifically to each customer’s unique needs. I have a limited budget- can I still work with bde?

Of course! With our wide range of services and suppliers, we have numerous options to tailor projects to your budget! For our solar and back-up power system customers, we also offer multiple financing options that require zero out of pocket costs.
